I actually treasure my Kabar, but would have no trouble batoning kindling with it.
    It's pretty heavy.

I have a Jeff White Bush 3 and a Behring EDC. Yhe latter a little smaller.

Both fixed blade and thick so I guess one could use em for batoning. I never will.

I've got a plain Jane old Kabar "parachute" knife.
I use it so often, only three or four specks of paint are missing from the blade.
    Still factory sharp! LOL!
It stays in the door pocket on my truck.

I don't know anything about the Shieldon knives, never even seen one. The only knife I own that qualifies as a survival knife and is under 30 years old is my Morakniv which I've never used in a tough situation. The knives I have used stopped being manufactured over 20 years ago. Sorry. Stay safe.
