I want to build, rebuild, invent, a hunting, fishing, camping, outdoor everything vehicle. I don't want to spend $40,000 dollars on a new Ford or Chevy, etc. I'd like to start with something 10+ years old that can be purchased right. A truck, SUV or something that was and is considered indestructable. Then some advise regarding tires, engine modification, etc. to outfit this vehicle to be my partner for the rest of my hunting, fishing, "outdoor life". Any help???

Believe it or not, I love my old 1973 Land Cruiser. Of course, it's now a Chevota. Or maybe a Toyolet. The problem with going old and building is the never ending cycle of replacing the oldest parts. I don't leave home without spare parts and a complete mechanic's tool box. That's half the fun in my opinion. Great stories too "Remember the time we were on such-an-such mountain and the thing broke off? How far did we walk that night?"
