I have hunted with a .30-06 since I was 12 years old and I am now 78. Used Winchester 150gr ammo all
those years and it never failed me. Also a few handloads along the way uning 150gr bullets. An escellent cartridge.

Thanks everyone! Sounds like the Remington Core-Lokt is the crowd favorite, I'll give it a shot.

With any .30 caliber gun I like to use a 150 gr. Spear Point. I personally shoot Hornady but also would recommend Remington Core-Lokt as well.

i use remington core-lokt 150 grain soft points. it has enough power to kill the deer but wont rip up as much meat

I hunt with a 165 grain core lockt bullet by Remington. This load seems to expand just right(unlike a Nosler which seems to expand to much)

A 150 or 165 grain bullet weight should be good. There are a lot of good bullet manufacturers out there. Something with a soft point, Nosler Ballistic Tip, or Sierra Gameking (to mention a few) should be good. Stay away from full metal jacket type bullets. You shouldn't need anything like Swift A-frame or Nosler Partition for deer. Good luck and good hunting!
