Please answer a question I have always wondered about. When it comes to the demise of deer, how many on average perish during the cold, starvation, vehicular accidents, or other natural occurences in comparison too hunting? Thank you.

That is a tough question to ask cause it really varies from place to place and the weather isn't always the same from year to year, so you can't really put a number on it. The best way to get an estimate is to talk to some wildlife biologists or whoever manages and watches the herds in your area.

That would be a good study to conduct. It would have to be state to state, because each state has its different weather, food sources, number of vehicles and natural occurrences of death - example CWD. The study would have to cover more than a one year time frame due to fluctuations in weather and the rest of the factors. After that is said and done perhaps a yearly average can be calculated for a five year period or a total average for five years. Good question jdamos.
