I'm a hoyt fan boy. You can get a great starter set with something like an MT sport for under $400 no problem

i second wvbowhunter's comment. Those are probably your best deal for a bow under 500, or at least around it. i know that Hoyt and diamond make Redhead's and Parker and Pearson make Cabelas. another good boy for under 500 are Fred bear bows.

There are plenty of bows that are out there, usually already set up. I know the PSE Stinger from Cabelas/Basspro is set up for 399 or just the bow for 299, thats just one idea. Like Herbie57_57 said many bow shops have great deals on used bows set up already. Just kinda have to look around, see what you can find. Good Luck!

If you have a bow shop close to you look for a good used bow. There are some good bows close to that price, Parker has one that is close to $400. One of my friends got a Parker set up with 6 carbon arrows and a release for just over $400 so I know you should be able to find one in your price range.
