    Bubba and Rich,
    I tried everything to get the site moving. My quizes was lacking comments.
    Sports was lacking comments. I gave users a plus one for posting a thread.
    Jimbo and I were posting multiple threads.

    There one good thing that F&S has and we do not have.
    Is the following;
    1. Trolls posting Movers from India threads.
    2. Trolls posting porn threads
    3. Trolls posting threads on movies.
    4. Animal Rights activists jumping on the site and butting in with their tree hugging opinions.

      Buckeroo, those people are editors, not experts in any given area. Petzel casts a wide net with his knowledge in all things firearms, same way with Phil and shotlguns and upland game. A lot of the other recognized greats are gone now and young ones have not yet earned their stripes. In some cases there are budding experts like Tyler Freel of OL in Mtn. Sheep and big Bears with recurves. Check out Tyler at Points North, https://www.facebook.com/OLPointsNorth/ Jim

        Jimbo, I heartily agree with you concerning Tyler. He has my great love in mind as to his comments and information about recurves. I am rather at a loss on the site as most posting concerns firearms and ballistics, of which I know very little and thus have nothing to contribute, but that might make others happy, lol ! There is virtually no archery, or traditional archery on the site and I find that a shame and cuts down on my posting of questions to some extent !

          All good reasons Gary, and I return the plus 4 and up you 1 !!

            Not fair, back in 09, one question asked took a week of answers on OL. When F&S had 4-6 Question asked and got 9-10 answers to every Q, asked. I'm an 09er like most on OL & F&S.

              Hello Gents, ladies, I,m still here, although I often read others post !the Majority of the time I don,t post because it seems there is usually some difficulty in doing so. I have seen here some disparaging remarks made to our fellow commentators to which I,m probably just as guilty as the next. This tends to lessen or membership rolls and comments to be revised. Over the years Outdoor life may also be responsible for some loss of very good contributions for example, Travis Faulkner that added g, ,zeal, and excitement in his writings.Mike ! I can,t recall his last name, but showed lots of experience , and Zumbo that always knew how to turn our field game into feast. So instead of reinforcing our structure here it's a process of elimination of members and writers,with little leadership from the site itself. I,m not intending any lack of effort by Gary Devine or Natalie to which without we would truly leave us in the dark. Just my opinion, it's subject to change.

                For me it's partly time of year. A lot of outside time and nights spent sleeping out of doors (if in tents and campers(glamping badge earned)) generally means less time staring at a screen.
                Ironically in the fall, I'll often check the site if I'm on my rear in the woods and things are slow.
                On the other hand, I do check here a lot less often. When activity went down, at first that was it's own problem. In the effort (appreciated) by many to get activity up, a lot of static was added. Things that have nothing to do with the outdoors (ie sports, kittens, random trivia, politics (outside of 2a and land use).
                The sirens' calls grew fainter and fainter.
