How are you folks doing? Looks to be mostly costal damage. Stay safe and keep warm.

Roads a bit messy on the way to work. Been too cold for salt and brine to work. Wind covers what's been cleared and has been picking up.
Lost power at work for just a minute earlier, but it hadn't been windy yet.
Personally, just glad I brought a few days worth of firewood into the house last night, a week or more up under the porch roof where it's less likely to be covered in drifting snow than in the normal pole sheds, and that I gave the chainsaws a once over the other day.
It's cold enough that powdery snow on the firewood is mostly just a nuisance to be brushed off, but wet wood as cold as it is would still be irritating.
I'll consider myself mildly fortunate as the wind is picking up now if I don't have to cut a tree somewhere between the road and my house when I get home.

We're getting buried quite nicely in Central New York, and will soon begin a good 60 hours of potential -20 to -25 wind chills. All schools in the area have closed already for tomorrow. Good old-fashioned January weather, in other words. I'm heading home in a minute or so. Once there, I'll do some shoveling, then put on a big pot of coffee, cook a steak, and sit down with a C.J Box novel (and probably catch Jeopardy come 7:30).

Every time we have one of these storms blow through, I think about these two young men.
Reminds me of the stunts I pulled when I was young, six foot tall and bullet proof.
These two guys just made a bad decision. Unfortunately, the consequences were fatal.

                Wow, Florida gets that cold?
Those poor seniors move down to the Sunshine State to get away from the cold. ?

The last time the weather was this cold and long was 29 years ago 1989!

Luckily we never quite got the wind we were expecting, but swapping my daughter's car battery out this morning it was cold and windy enough while working on a ton of cold steel that I wished I had a garage for the first time in a while.

The NE FL Eagle nest was in the 20's last night. They don't tell where it is exactly but it is not far from the InterCoastal.

It's not near as cold down here in darkest Dixie as it is up nawth, but I noticed that the gangstas have pulled their pants up to keep warm.
Had no problems getting the cats to stay inside and to snuggle up warm.
