  • Changed the oil ready for hunting

I changed the oil in my Hemi (7 qts) and added some MotorKote. It is suppose to add mileage and be a good friction reducer. A lot of the 18 wheelers use it in engines and transmissions. You can view their friction test video at MotorKote.com Anybody else tried it?

It pays to check the spark plugs or a possible needed tune up.
Jimbo, don't forget the vehicle air filter with your Jeep riding on those dusty roads. ?

I just had my Oil & Filter changed with 100% Syn-AMSOIL (6qts)5w-30 the only True 100% Syn-Oil, On the market, and the WIX Gas Filter R&R. Good for 1 yr or 25K miles.

Plugs are good for 20,000 more miles, all 16 of them. I use K&N air filter so all I do is wash it out. Should be ready, just put the gas in the tank. I drive about 3,000 miles during various hunting fishing trips so I should be all set.

Synthetic oils have 3 different possible bases. I use Mobil 1 which is a PolyAlphaOlifin based product and I run it about 5,000.

This link will tell you all you want to know about oil. One thing only hinted at in the description is the engineers try to formulate the longest carbon chain they can, even a double carbon chain is desirable. The reason is the shear effect the engine has on the oil cuts and shortens the length of the carbon chains and thus reduces the lubricity of the oil which increases wear on internal parts. Now I have told you more than I know LOL. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synthetic_oil
