Hi Bob. OL has a new stars rating system with the changes to the site they made. Go to "My Profile" on the green bar on top. Click on "More about rankings and points" and you can read about it.

When you go to your profile there are 3 rectangular boxes view, edit and points. Click on the points box to see an accounting of all your points.
The number of points determines the number of stars and OL increased the awarded points for site activities. But it was not done retroactively.
How Points Translate Into Stars:
0 – 5000 points = 1 star
5001 – 10000 points = 2 stars
10001 - 20000 points = 3 stars
20001 - 40000 points = 4 stars
40001 + points = 5 stars
Participation earns a lot more points than it used to.

You can click on your name or anyone else's and see their point totals.

As charlie elk and 4everAutumn stated, OL changed their star ranking system. I'm not a fan of the new format in that regard, but I guess we can't have everything. All the regulars know who is intelligent and well-reasoned, so the number of stars by your name doesn't matter in that regard, but the change could make a newcomer devalue somebody's opinion.

I was about to make a sarcastic remark about my I think formerly 3 or 4 stars on this forum definitely not giving my opinions more merit as opposed to meaning I have a lot of them... and then I noticed I have been demoted to a Brigadier General.
Eh. I will now have to bombard you with more idiocy to catch up.
