    DSMbirddog, how did you do for your opener? It was somewhat slow for me far as catching fish, crankbaits seemed to be the only way to catch fish and the only ones biting were northerns and smallmouths. Went up to another lake further north and fishing up there also seemed slower than usual.

    Sorry I am so late. We did very well over Memorial Day week. We didn't go for opener as Cass was ice covered. The fishing was very good and brought home our limits. I bass fished with a friend on bass opener and did okay there too. We used a jig a shiner on main lake humps in the morning and evening. We ate a lot of fish. I can't get in this site at work anymore. Damn.

      It should pick up with the temperature warming up. Hope you didn't get pulled over by the dnr for their great program. Driving to there fr Iowa has to be a long drive and i can see them driving away a lot of out ofstate fishermen.
