      Actually, that sounds pretty intriguing. It may be hard to find a good deal on one of the old Winchesters chambered in it though.

        Get a Browning, they are easier to come by and cheaper.

          The Browning is cheaper and just as good if not better, but I parted with the Model 71 I used to own and have regretted it ever since, so this would give me an excuse to buy one if I went with the .348

            Get a 257 robert or a 257 weatherby its close to a 243
