    Down here in south AL, the most popular stuff is oats, wheat and clover. I've been using it for years and years and had good luck with it.

    I don't use them (don't have anything against them, just never have done it), so I can't speak from personal experience, but the two crops most often mentioned by guys who do use plots are brassicas (turnips), and clover.

    I'm not big on food plots so maybe there is something better, but I would suggest planting multiple different plants the first year(keep them separated) and observe which ones the deer in your area prefer.
