If a deer is running past me on a deer drive, what can I do to make it stop. Besides shoot it.

I usually start out trying to stop them with a mouth bleat/grunt. The if that doesn't do the trick, I'll whistle at them. If neither of those methods works, then you could literally yell at them, but if the bleating/whistling doesn't stop them, generally nothing will. Usually they're gone by the time you'd get to yelling anyway.

Barking is one way to re-startle (I think I just coined a new word!) a deer.
But let me see if I've got this right...you're a deer hunter on a drive (or stand?) and a deer comes running past you. Your post indicates that you could shoot it, right? So why in the world would you want only to stop it...??

Piney, huntfishtrap: I’ve never understood the whole vote down thing. I equate that to a kid running by someone on the playground and punching them in the back. Opposing viewpoint here is half the fun and also a chance for us to learn. It is certainly anyone’s right to disagree with a statement, but they should add their own to dispute it.
