To many t.v shows has you convinced that every time you use these tools the bucks should get in line to pass your stand.Nothing WORKS all the time,on bucks or doe. They do and will perform along with other good hunting form that only helps lean the odds to our side a little bit.Experience and patience will help you learn over use grunting and rattle can hurt your chances.Hunting big bucks is no easy game, most of the time we lose, but when it does come together the reward is more than enough to keep you on track for another season .

I don't really know what to say on this one, because I had the same trouble this year. I didn't rattle or bleat in a single buck, and only grunted in a couple of small ones. Some years I just hit a dry spell as far as calling is concerned, not sure why.

Silence and a scent drag that starts about 100 yards away crosses at least 20 yards past where you are sitting and a couple spots where you can lay down some scent and a mock scrape or two to get them to stop in a spot you can get a shot off. Not sure where you are but the rut hasn't started yet up here in Maine. There are a few precocious bucks but they are the little guys and they will have their nose to the ground for doe scent.
