I use an old school set of antlers from a heavy seven pointer that I got about ten years ago. I think nothing sounds more like real antlers than real antlers.

4everAutumn said it, there isn't anything as good as real antlers. You don't need a giant rack for it to work, any antlers will do.

You do know that rubbing a stick against a tree sounds like a buck making a rub ,right ?

Rather than pack a bulky set of antlers into the woods with me, I cut up some old antlers into 4 to 6 inch long pieces which I put into a bag/sock. This delivers the same 'real' sound but in a compact package. Hope this helps!

I know it's not what you want to hear, but there aren't any replacement rattling systems out there that sound as good as antlers. There's nothing like the real thing, as they say.
If you really must have an alternative to real antlers, the cloth rattle bags are probably the best.
