I know it's not what you want to hear, but there aren't any replacement rattling systems out there that sound as good as antlers. There's nothing like the real thing, as they say.
If you really must have an alternative to real antlers, the cloth rattle bags are probably the best.

I know you may be a little bit sketchy about knight and hale right now, but for me, the pack-rack works the best. It is easy to use, cheap, portable, and to me sounds almost exactly the same as two bucks fighting.

MDhunter1, I think the call he has IS the Pack-Rack, I don't know of any other plastic rattling system made by Knight & Hale. BTW, I've used the Pack-Rack, and I hated it. To my ears, it sounded like, well, plastic. But to each his own!

An old broomstick or some thing similar cut out into sections and put in a bag. Hollow out one or two to change the sound up a bit, hold them in a bag and rub them together.

I'd say the thing that works the best is good ol' fashioned actual antlers. Grab the ones off of last year's buck and slam and rattle them together. Old tactic, but it works.

Use a pair of you old sheds that you found and take them in the woods and tell me how it works.
