What do you think about pop up blinds? better to use in the open or in closed in areas? gun or bow?

-Deer are totally different than turkeys when it comes to ground blinds. With turkeys, you can put it up just about anywhere, and they won't give it a second glance, but most deer will absolutely freak out at the sight of a blind.
-So if you're going to use a pop-up blind for deer, it either has to be put in place at least two weeks before you hunt it, to let the deer get used to the sight of it, or you have to brush it in VERY well, so you can't tell it's a ground blind.
-The upshot is, because brushing them in is a lot of work, and leaving them on location to let the deer get used to the sight kind of defeats the purpose of using them, I don't use 'em for deer.
-I suppose if you were gun hunting in a more open location, where the deer don't come as close, they could be effective, but then you don't really need a blind anyway.
