-Deer are totally different than turkeys when it comes to ground blinds. With turkeys, you can put it up just about anywhere, and they won't give it a second glance, but most deer will absolutely freak out at the sight of a blind.
-So if you're going to use a pop-up blind for deer, it either has to be put in place at least two weeks before you hunt it, to let the deer get used to the sight of it, or you have to brush it in VERY well, so you can't tell it's a ground blind.
-The upshot is, because brushing them in is a lot of work, and leaving them on location to let the deer get used to the sight kind of defeats the purpose of using them, I don't use 'em for deer.
-I suppose if you were gun hunting in a more open location, where the deer don't come as close, they could be effective, but then you don't really need a blind anyway.

huntfishtrap, same thing I was thinking, living out west I have hard time finding any good use for it so far. Leaving it out for two weeks around here, would be like giving it away to be honest....

I hunt from a treestands but a pop-up blind is better then sitting out in the open. Crows and Jays can't see you so they can't call out a warning. The bugs can't eat you alive while in a blind.
Primos makes the best ground blind, that I have seen out there. Good Luck!
