I shot a coyote, I called in, with 6.8 SPC in Ruger Mini-14 configuration. The coyote turned to walk away after I screwed up and forgot to uncover my scope lenses before calling. I was able to quickly acquire the doggie and shot it on the walk away in the neck. Tore the neck up bad, but the coyote had mange anyway. I was able to salvage the head/skull. I won't use the 6.8 SPC again for coyote hunting, but will use it for deer hunting, even though I missed a buck with it at 200 yards in the offhand position. Those Minis are hard to accurately shoot offhand.
