The Thermacell is one of the greatest inventions of all time, as long as you're stationary.

Spray your clothes with permethrin, it is totally odorless. Use 3M Ultrathon on exposed skin it is odorless when it dries. While on stand the thermacell is worth its weight in gold, it is truly an effective little unit.
Good hunting.

Hi...
You could use some 'natural' bug sprays...but that probably wouldn't tempt a deer to come in closer. Either way, don't use a repellent containing DEET...!! It has too many medical drawbacks (personal experience...it will dissolve paint...!!).
I would recommend a headnet...which would also help conceal your face.

I've used the Therma Cell while hog hunting and I don't think it bothers them. I haven't tried it with deer but will be trying it soon.

Head net, thick clothing. Might be hot walking in so stuff it in a backpack.

Anything with DEET, the more it has the better it will protect and the longer it will last. They make many sprays and lotions with DEET, and plenty of them have no scent. Just be careful because everyone I have used will also take the finish off of a wood stock.

-Try Deep Woods by Off!(It's a spray). That is what we all use when the mosquito get bad.
-I've heard mixed reviews on the thermacell and wristbands/patches.

While bowhunting yesterday afternoon, mosquitos continously kept flying into my face, by my ears, and even got bit by a few. What can I do to keep those things away from me out there without giving out myself and spooking deer? I read about thermacell devices, bug wristbands, and over a dozen types of sprays and I have no idea what would work. Any help in this is appreciated!Tags: None
