Does anyone know what are the laws concerning carcass disposal in Kansas?

Carcass can be left on private land if you have permission as long as you have taken all of the commonly edible parts. If you hunt on public land you can not leave the carcass behind, so you will need to find a place to dump it. I'm sure a landfill would take the carcass if you have any around where you live.

first notify the proper authorities and inform them that your mother -in law has passed on to the great divide ,bury 6 feet deep,at least act like your bothered a few tears or water will do.now hunting and fishing trips should become easier to plan as now you only have to convince your wife that it's better than a good day at work .
