Which is the better bullet for whitetails, winchester power point or winchester power max bonded. I shoot a 243 win. in PA. All my shots are under 100 yards(many are under 50 yards) How do these bullets compare in terms of weight retention and penetration?

Both bullets will get the job done the power point is a lead tipped bullet, the max bonded is a hollow point that is bonded to the core, I have little experience shooting deer with them, but the max claims to hold together better than the power point. If you want more penetration go with the max.

For whitetail, Remington Core-Lokt® 100 grain Pointed Soft Point well work just fine. You don't need some armor piercing bullet for a critter that doesn't have ballistic fur! If a 30-06 180 grain Core-Lokt® can smack down a moose, a 243 100 grain Core-Lokt® is just the ticket. besides, they don't break the piggy bank and you can get some good quality trigger time knowing the load. Core-Lokt® accuracy is phenomenally accurate!
