Can someone help me out,I had back surgery and I still want to bow hunt this year. I don't know if I can pull a bow back a hold it. Is a 45 lbs bow good to kill a deer.

I personally believe that a 45lb bow is sufficient for killing deer inside of and up to 25 yards. My son just took up bow hunting this last season and he is a rather small dude at 16 years old. I bought him a Bowtech Soldier and had it set up at 45lbs to start. He took his first deer ever with it at 18 yards. The following week, I used his bow in a pinch and killed a real nice 7 point at 43 yards however, I didn't get the complete pass through that I normally get with my Mission Eliminator set at 70lbs. Still, the deer only ran about 30 yards before expiring. My brother uses an old 40lb long bow for deer hunting and has proven it to be very effective time and again. I believe that with good shot placement, a 45lb rig should be just fine. Good luck and happy hunting.
