I wasn't aware that there was a Native American perception of hunting methods. As far as I know, they embraced the firearm as soon as it was available to them, as well as other technology such as steel knives. I have read that they were playing merry h#ll with the bison population by driving them over cliffs and killing more than they needed and using fire to do it. They were out to fill their bellies the easiest ways they could and I'd have done the same under the conditions. There has got to be more behind your question.
