Last year a huge non-typical was seen on a trail cam where we hunt. No one tagged him but he has not been spotted this year. If he was a non-typical last year, could his rack have grown in typical this year?

I'm certainly no professional, but, I've seen deer grow non-typical due to deformed antler growth one year stemming from a serious injury ( A main frame six point grew so many kickers and droptines it became a twelve.Maybe this is possible and the injury healed. I think it more likely that he has succomed to the elements or moved on to better suiting grounds.

When you say "no one" tagged him idk how many people that represents, but I read it as no one legally killed him during deer season(entire area, everyone hunting). Based on that I would say he either made a big move during the off season maybe due to a drought or bad weather. Could of also been killed by a natural cause, illegally shot, or even hit by a car. Just to get your hopes up he may still be in the area, deer are smart they dont get to be that big by being dumb.
