I hunt a parcel of land that is extremely thick with not a lot of open areas and no surrounded fields in which to glass. Any tips on how I can scout and pattern deer without the use of trail cams? Should I take my climber out and set up in a spot where I think deer are and sit in it for a while? But then again I don't want to spook any deer. Any tips?

Get out and scout the area, look for deer trails,tracks, water and food sources, areas where they have been beding down, That how it has been done for years before trail cams ever came into use. That is how I still do it.

There have been times when hunting thick areas that ive brought in a bucket or two of dirt so tracks are easier to see, getting out there and looking for sign is the best you can do.

some areas often have rubs from year to year,old rubs are important as this might be were fresh rubs start,by studying terrain such as terraces, saddles and ridgefingers deer routes can often be predicted , look for squrriels and turkeys where they feed and deer should be close.until you decide where you want to hunt don't worry about spooking deer,creatures of habit they won't go far and generally return in a day or two .
