I hunt on 1,500 acres of private land that is divided pretty much 50-50 woods to crop fields. we have roughly 45 acres of food plots and 17 year round mineral lick sites. With these good conditions, what is the normal amount of inches a whitetail's antlers will grow a day while in velvet. I know genetics play a huge role but is there a rule of thumb as to how many inches they put on in a given day.

I read in deer&deerHunter...about 1/8" to 1/4" Per day if this is any help.

Food resources do not seem to be a limiting factor in your area so genetics will be the wildcard for sure

deer drop and start growing antlers be tween march 1 lets say and shed by velvet ist week in september. roughly 180 days, not counting inside spread say 18 inches, a booner would grow 152 inches .so probably closer or near 1 inch a day .

Generally with very good conditions a deer can usually get about a 1/2 inch of growth per day. ( I researched it. )
