I use deer lure religiously when on watch. My hunting buddy's do not. They kill deer and I do not? What gives?

I have messes around with lures only a few time. I have found that the deer may become intimidated or get confused when the scent is strong and they dont see anything. and the deer shy off. perhapse im wrong but this is just my experience with it.
Personally i say Loose the Lure!
Best of Luck and Stay Safe.

youre buddies position remain hidden while you maybe broadcasting youres, lures should be used sparingly but they often are confused with to much emphasis on bringing deer to a specific spot to be shot.Nothing works 100 percent of the time, try different scents at different tim es of the season till you get a feel when and where to use it.after 46 years of white tail hunting I still have more to learn but it's interesting when it does work. good luck

You may be using the wrong scent for a particular time of year, or it may be as simple as bad luck. The times I've used scent lures, the results have been so erratic that I don't fool with them any more. Concentrate on putting your stand in the right place and playing the wind. Find food sources and bedding areas, funnels and travel corridors. Good hunting to you.
