I always wonder when glassing with binoculars, if it better to stay in one place or slowly pan the area.

binos are only the first step in stalking,if sitting in one place is preferable then you wouldn't need the binos.

Panning allows for an uninterrupted break in the field of view --you might just miss that one antler in the sunshine or just one small clue that does blend in the landscape.

I like to pan my surroundings because whitetails can pop out of thin air(so it seems anyways).
