Do you know how to determine a deer has starved to death...if the only remains are the skeleton?

Gerald is right, Proof of starvation is when the animal's body tries to devour itself, so it gets at the creamy pink to a red, you have the proof.

you check the bone marrow in the femur, main back leg bone of the deer & if it is a reddish color and no fattish texture the deer has starved. on healthy deer the bone marrow is white and feels greasey when rubbed between the fingers.

i think you could find out by finding what kind of nutrients were still in the bones.
