This is a excellent time of year to take a mature buck-and it might be easier than you think-larger bucks tend to frequent crop fields/ open areas/ travel routes more frequently at any given time of the day.(from my personal experience)Almost like a post rut ambivalence seems to become a mind set of larger bucks.I seen some of the best bucks between now and Christmas, midday on the move. From your description of your hunting area "with a bunch of does";there is a high possibility that one or more were not bred successfully and may cycle again. The best opportunities are rare and only come around once every deer season.

Hello everyone!
What I would do, Use a cover scent and a human scent killer to eliminate your human scent. Then leave a scent trail for the bucks to follow past your stand. Then place out 3 scent bombs. 1 on either side(left and right) and one in front. You can also make a fake scrape using a scent dripper or by dripping scent onto the bare ground.
