I have had this happen many times during the years walking in to a treestand or hunting location. For the most part I regard this as the "alarm signal" and so in that respect this interaction between deer and hunter is for the most part over.It does not mean however that you hunting location you have selected is ruined for there still we be deer movement after the fact.If you are patterning a specific buck and this happens ---I would set up about a hundred yards away from the area the next few times out;assuming the deer may have imprinted on the interaction and may use some extra caution or stage longer before passing through.I would not feel defeated just aware that one buck is a little wiser.
