Ammo at Customer Service.
I couldn't see the stock, but a clerk asked what caliber I was looking for.

So it's NOT the stores doing the price gouging. Well, not Academy anyway.

I didn't have any need nor desire for FMJ ammo, but I need the brass. 😀!
I'll load it with some Sierra 150gr BTSP bullets I have.

You know .308 can be necked down to .243. I know you have one of those.

My FiL does but I do not. While I plan to load him a few boxes with the components he gave me the fact is he's not a shooter and I probably won't do much development beyond minimum loads if his gun shoots them reasonable. And I'll want to do the testing. He probably has enough factory ammo to last him several years as it is. He actually has two .308's, a Ruger American that's now his go to and a Win 100. I don't want to set him up with hot loads that might get run in the autoloader someday and won't have control of what ends up where. If he uses what I roll I'll just load the brass again.


At this point I'd rather not mix headstamps either, especially with the 7mm-08 in the safe.


Pretty sure I can spare some, not all of it came from his stash as well.
