  • Son of a Fitch: turkey taxidermy

The kid put this together with his solo bird from this spring. He split a slice of maple for the mounting board, dried the wings and fan with borax after cleaning as much fat and gack as he could scrape off. He made the wing bone call as well.

He keeps this stuff up he’s going to need a big house and an understanding girlfriend/wife.

Very nice. Maybe his girlfriend/wife will need room for her own mounts? Never know. Turkey feathers make beautiful mounts, flies, earrings, dream catchers, the list goes on.

      Kid's great with his hands!
      That's awesome!

There is a feeling of satisfaction in doing things like that on your own.
It's even better when it turns out THAT well!

Congrats on a job well done "kid"!
