If it's oven roasted whole; the store bought, wild turkey is too lean to be cooked in this manner, it will come out tough and dry. Whereas store turkeys have 10-25% salt water injected to keep them moist during cooking.
If they are each cut up in parts with all the sinew and silver skin removed and the pieces are cooked separately; the wild turkey is my pick.

I've eaten many types of game...but never a wild turkey...So I would opt for the "Butterball"...!! However...if they were both being cooked at the same time...I would not hesitate to try the wild turkey...!!

I'm with charlie elk. Store-bought turkey is tender and juicy, but it can't match the flavor of wild, if the wild is properly prepared.

If it's cooked like I think of when I think Thanksgiving turkey, I'd pick the store bought. If it's stripped and fried like I enjoy wild turkey breast, the wild turkey gets my pick every time. I just don't think you can beat it that way along with stuffing made from the legs, wings and thigh meat.

Wild is by far the best. It's simple to defeat the problem of dryness. Put the whole bird in a roasting pan and pour a can of beer into the body cavity and let it run out or whatever. Make a foil tent over the turkey and roast it according to weight, removing the foil for the last 30 minutes so it can brown. Don't overcook or it'll fall off the bones.

Sometimes a simple solution is the best one.

A turkey cannon works real well, too, but not as well as using the beer and the tent.

Even if you roast it another way and it comes out dry, that's just an opportunity for sauce, gravy or jelly. Wild turkey just tastes that much better than tame.

I'd opt for the wild one anytime. I'd rather have to do some extra chewing than settle for inferior domestic flavor and questionable farming practices.
