It really depends on where you are hunting (private, public, big property, small property). I hunt on a 40acre farm and what I do is I go in early in the morning and listen for them gobbling on the roost. When i hear them then I stalk to about 50 yards from them and set up. I also yelp quietly and try to position myself between them and the food. When they fly down hopefully I'm in the right spot. Another great thing to do is go out the evening before and try to listen to see where they are roosting. That way the next morning you know exactly where they will be. good luck and don't get too frustrated. Turkey hunting has been known to drive even the best hunters insane!

Well said, Pjsabella. You must be a better woodsman than I am because I wouldn't dare try to get a close as fifty yards to a gobbling turkey---I'm satisfied if I can get within 100 yards and sometimes further than that if the woods haven't leafed out yet. Good hunting.
I don't know where to shoot a turkey with a bow.
