Ok, I admit it. I shot at a nice Tom turkey last week and missed. It happens. I don't think I got any pellets in him but I sure did scare the geebee's out of him. He scrambled back into the woods before I could get another shot off. So my question is, can I call him back in? How soon? An hour? Day? Or can he even be called back at all? Help!

This happened to me last year!!!! And what I did was I took off running to try to cut him off because I had an idea of where he would be going. I took off in a semi circle and then started to call again with a different sounding reed about 2 hours later. And he showed up!!!!! Not sure if it was luck or skill...but it worked!

Sit right back down and start callin. He will come back.

You may be able to call him up in another hour, and you may have given him his PHd in hunter avoidance. With turkeys, it's hard to tell. I'd give him a rest for at least a day before trying him again. A lot depends on whether you stung him or just startled him.
