When a Tom gobbles in the distance whether stimulated w/ a shock call, or just he's just gobbling...is it better to try & close the gap, or just start calling back??

well it depends on the distance if its a pretty long way then yes try closing the gap ...the reason toms gobble is so the hen can find him and come to him...the hunters objective is to reverse that and have him come to you...but it all depends on the distanse if its more 150 to 200 yrds then try closing the gap to about a 100 yrds and sit and call if its less sit and get ready! good luck this year
