I was at Bass Pro the other day and, on a whim, bought a "Thunderbird" gobbling device. It sounds good, but I really don't know what I'll do with it. Have any of you ever had any experience and/or success using a gobbling call? Under what circumstances?

use them to interigate a gobbler on the way to set up and use a hen call to sound like a jake and a hen in a breading flock

Forgot to mention that I'm on private land that is surrounded by more private land, so other hunters aren't a factor.

We are so vulnerable between seasons with nothing to do but obsess over the coming season and buy stuff. Man is this a great country or what? So much stuff so little time.
Gobbler call can be a good locator. On a couple of occasions I have used a bit of gobbling along with yelps to make a hung bird think another Tom just moved in on the girl he was talking to.

        later,
