That is not a problem around here, habitat is good so ample food is available. Usually in a freshly planted area the turkeys are bugging (eating bugs) not the seeds. Something with protien is their first food choice.

hmmmm...... maybe try some sort of deterent that works for keeping other animals out of other areas. Let me think........ caution tape around the area? small fence? Hopefully others will have an idea or two. Good luck! I suppose it really depends on the size of the food plot.

Maybe an owl or hawk decoy on a post? Shouldn't bother deer. A coyote decoy might.

Don't know for sure if they dislike bloodmeal? Depending on how big your food plot is, could you fence it and put a covered net over it? Turkeys are heavy though so they might collapse a cover pen if it's not supported in enough places like with fence poles the t tops, like rebar welded to the top of steel fence posts. Heard somewhere that you can take a goose wing and tie it at the joint area and make it look like an owl and hang it up. Most birds and animals figure out things aren't a threat after awhile when they don't get moved around or don't actually attack them.
