I used to harvest a bunch of squirrels and thought i could get rich off selling them to Mepps. Turns out Mepps said my tails were spoiled when they received them and didn't pay anything. I'm sure they still used the free hair to make their expensive inline spinners.

Can't get rich off that, youngster.

-Occasionally you can find a buyer, but even then you wont get much.It probably is not what he wants to hear, but I would tell your grandson that there is not a market.

Maybe, if you can find a buyer. But they won't be worth much - probably a buck at most. Even if you could find someone who would take them, I'm not sure what you'd get would be worth the effort of skinning them all the way. Same as Wolftracker, I would just stick to selling the tails to Mepps.

In some areas, there is a small market for squirrel pelts. Apart from that, there is not really a steady market. It may be hard to find a buyer. The pelts are not very valuable, however, it might cover the cost of the shells if you are lucky. I would stick with selling the tails to Mepps. I read that you can also receive credit for lures if your grandson is a fisherman.
