I was out in the squirrel woods this past weekend and could not hear the squirrels because of the oakworm crap hitting the leaves. Anyone else having a big problem with the worms?

Hunting this spring turkey season, I was in a large stand of oak. Theese small inch worms were dropping from the trees into the leaves. It actually sounded like a drizzleing rain. There seemed to be thousands of them. I had actually hoped the turkey would be feeding on them. Opting for a more silent place to hunt, I moved to a more silent spot, so I could hear.
By the way I live in Oklahoma. I believe a mild winter last year is the problem.
