Pheasant season opens in Iowa on October 27. I'm considering going to some farms south of Grinnell where I used to hunt. The other option is WMA in northern Iowa. Anyone else got plans for Iowa opener?

My nephew is going to drag me out to a few spots he has in Central Iowa. One of the places usually holds birds if we can just get a bit more rain to marsh up some of the bottom ground. I don’t have too high a hope, but sore hips, stiff knees and a tired Lab still beat the couch.

That's the way I look at it too. I didn't go at all last year but the DNR says there are a few more this year.

One small piece of private CRP ground I have access too has a few birds running around, but it's also one of my best whitetail hunting spots, so I'll probably wait until I'm done deer hunting to give it a go.
