Going on a guided upland bird hunt tomorrow for the first time in my life. Costs about $350 for the day. Just wondering how much I should tip the guide? What is normal and acceptable?

Assuming the guide has a dog, I would say a minimum of $20 for a half day. Even if you are paying for the birds. 2 to 4 hunters should be $30 to $40. Most guides with a good dog are going to enjoy the hunt as much as you are. Unless you disrespect the hunt. Some guides do it for nothing just to hunt their dogs. That makes the tip even more important. If he is really good and you would like to to hunt with him again, be generous. I agree with Bob, if its the proprietor, he has already been paid. If he has a good dog maybe something is in order!
