I know that this might not go over well with some people, but I throw them in the brush. However, in my defense, I might skin them if I could find somebody to take the pelts, but my fur buyer let me know in no uncertain terms that possum hides would not be welcomed, and I don't have anything else to do with them. To be honest though, if we're talking practically, skinning them isn't really worth the time and effort when they only bring 2 or 3 bucks at the most, and that's only if they're stretched and dried.

I currently just toss em in a bait pile for yote hunting. My furbuyer does not accept them and i dont have the time to try to skin them for the little that they bring. They are getting far too used to people in one of the areas i trap. I walked up to one that was walking down a deer trail and instead of running or playing dead he got into "attack mode". I used a stick to distract him and picked him up by the tail. That made him play dead. He is lucky i did not have a gun and really was not in the mood to brake out the stake. I carried him a little ways away and let him go....after i took his picture of course
