I know that this is a stupid question, but do you need a tag for a coyote, and do you need to check it in?

Here in Washington, you need a small game tag for a coyote. You dont need to check it in though. I dont think there is a minumum load, like .243 or a 25-06.
    Good luck hunting!

I would check the regulations for the state you plan on hunting in. Regulations vary from one state to the next.

In Arkansas with a hunting licsense you can shoot coyotes from July 1st-February 28th, No limit, and No checking.

In Oklahoma, all you need is a hunting license and you can hunt coyotes year round. No checking in your kills. Daylight to dusk only, no night hunting.

I don't know of any state that requires a coyote to be tagged. Most, if not all, states require that the hunter have a hunting license for that state. However, some states may allow their residents to shoot coyotes without a hunting license. Check your regulations for your state.
