What is a good gun for woodchucks/groundhog?

I grew up hunting these with a .220 Swift or a .222. This was some of the most fun I had during the summer. Also, they are good eating, though a pain to skin!

I like the .243 Win., good bullet selection, good in the wind,low recoil,and also a good deer gun.

I have used a simple .22 and decided i like using my bow more. This is at short distances obviously so for long distance as everyone said,.223

.223 is enough for those but for larger gam 243 or larger in most states is required, if you in an area where there are big animals with tusks, fangs or claws make it a big one!

If you want a real classy light varmit gun the CZ-USA 527 is the way to go. It comes in 22 Hornet, 204 Ruger and 223. If it were me Id go with the 223.

here in south dakota most hunters use a .223 for both. they set up a couple hundred yards away and plink rounds all day
