What kind of an area would you go to trap fox?

It depends on what kind of fox. If you want grey fox, you want thick thick thick brush and woods. If you want red, you want open fields, pastures, woodlots, and of course where there is food and water source (applys for both)!

Red and grey fox live in different types of areas but do have some overlap in different parts of the country. The thing to remember whether you are traping fox of fishing for bass. Animals like edges, whether it's a woodlot with an edge on an open field or an edge where a young forest meets an old forest the animals will walk them. When setting the trap try to force the animal into it by giving it only one entry point, block with brush, etc so it can't circle the trap and approach it from the other sides.

I have always been partial to the edge of clearcuts where they pile the tree tops.

golf courses are surprisingly common places for red foxes due to the ample cover and supply of geese
