Fall rebates and sales should be coming up in a month or so. What I do is buy enough of the same lot number to last a year of shooting - 30-06 is one I do it for. Mostly I can get the loaded ammo for the usual price of the brass alone. Another thing I do is if I get some 180's and want to try some 165's, (and I am not recommending this to others) I pull the 180's and insert some 165's and see how they shoot. Usually they do very well. Don't go from one weight to a heavier weight - not good. The main thing to me is to settle on one load and bullet per firearm so I am very familiar with the rifle and load performance when I hunt with it. Changing loads is like a Chinese puzzle on what change made what difference. Settle on one and forget the other loads. I have one load for my .300WbyMag that I have been using for 30 years. If you need more range or power get a more powerful firearm.

Originally posted by PigHunterI took advantage of the Remington Fall rebates last year. So, my ammo inventory looks pretty good.
Most of the time I settle on just one load. I may break that this coming season with the AR in .300 BLK, using both a subsonic and a supersonic load, depending on the circumstances. I'll hope on any deal I see for the subsonic load.
