    Training to be succesful

I don't use 3D targets. Most of the time I'm shooting at 1-inch stickers placed on a white sheet of paper... Usually it's the backside of discarded electrical drawings from work.

Because they're 3-D. Because they're not the standard paper bulls-eye. Same reason it's more fun to play Deer Hunter 2 than it was to play Deer Hunter 1. More realism leads to a more satisfying experience.

I really couldn't tell you, because I rarely shoot 3D targets. I mostly punch paper on the range.

Adding a bit of realism to practice helps tune the senses, hence dry firing at bucks on a screen. MAY help hunters with buck fever

Shooting paper targets is boring as sh*t. And very hard on eardrums even if wearing protection. I do it enough to get my hunting rifle sighted in and that's it. Shooting 3D targets won't make it any more interesting. Unless they make good jerky.
