    As I got older and more fidgety, I would get out of my stand and try "still hunting" or just go try a different stand. By the time the morning hunt was over, I had wandered all over and not seen anything.
    I complained to pop about, "I never see anything!" and he laughed.
    "Bubba, if you will just sit down and be still, deer WILL come by."
    So I did....and I did! Start seeing more deer!
    The bottom we hunted was very, VERY dense with thickets. I killed a few deer I stumbled into while walking or moving. Probably 98% to 99% of the deer I killed was from a stand.
    I suppose there were successful hunters in our area who did the still hunting thing, but most were stand hunters.
